You can do the writing portion in your second attempt. Canvas will automatically give you the highest score for the multiple-choice grammar questions, so you have nothing to lose.
Part 1: Basic Grammar (10 points - one point per question)
- Directions: Choose the option that corrects an error in the underlined portion(s). If no error exists, choose "No change is necessary." This is multiple choice.
Part 2: Advanced Punctuation (6 points - one point per question)
- Directions: Choose the option that corrects an error in the underlined portion(s). If no error exists, choose "No change is necessary." This is multiple choice.
Part 3. Required only if you want to attempt a "4" for L.10.02 (8 points)
- Directions: Write a paragraph of your choosing. Please work alone. Though you may use notes in your ELA journal, you may not use any pre-written examples. Review your L.10.02 to see the requirements for a 4. There are dictionaries on the tables to look up words you do not know how to spell.
Requirements for a 4:
-
- Four to five sentences (No more!)
- Varied syntax (This means you are writing a combination of different types of sentences of different lengths)
- Elevated vocabulary (The words must be specific and used correctly)
- One quote (This is so I can see that you know how to punctuate correctly using a quotation marks)
- No spelling errors
- No capitalization errors.
- One semicolon, colon or M-Dash
- No other grammatical mistakes.
Part 4. Reflection (8 points - 2 points per bullet)
- Directions: Write your reflection based on any or all of the prompts below. You may use an informal tone, but be sure to include evidence from your journal, class, or home as support. Work independently. Although grammar and spelling won't count against you, always reread your work for clarity.
