This project assesses students' ability to make a claim with reasoned evidence on the short story, Snow. The project is divided into four phases:

Read and Annotate the short story as a class and individually (21st Century, B2)
Collaborating with classmates who have a similar claim to prepare for the Socratic seminar (SL.10.01)
Speak during the seminar, which is held during class time. (SL.10.01)
- Complete the Personal Reflection (on Canvas) to clarify evidence for SL.10.01 scores and others
- Optional: Complete the Class Reflection (on Canvas) to improve future seminars.
Write an opening paragraph on a claim with three strong pieces of evidence. (W.10.01a ONLY) and additional components of an essay, available on Canvas

While students prepare in groups, they are assessed individually, both on how well they bring evidence forward during the seminar as well as how they contributed to their own group's knowledge. All materials are available on Canvas in the Unit 2 module and Q1 Weeks 5 and 6 notes.
